- The patient has the right to considerate and respectful treatment and care.
- The patient’s dignity and rights will be upheld for their health and safety.
- The patient has the right to obtain from the health department relevant, current and understandable information regarding their diagnosis and treatment.
- The patient has the right to participation in decisions regarding their treatment and care.
- The patient has the right to accept or refuse treatment to the extent acceptable by law and be informed of the medical consequences of such refusal.
- The patient has the right to expect continued care, even if they refuse necessary treatment.
- The patient has the right to expect confidentiality of information pertaining to their health care.
- The patient and/or their legally designated representative has the right to have access to information contained in the patient’s medical records, within the limits of the law.
- The patient has the right to information on their bill of rights and a procedure to file a complaint.
- Patients with special needs will be acknowledged and addressed on an individual basis
